Deborah Stewart, Director

SoloQuest's Director is Deborah Stewart who attended high school in Sao Paulo, Brazil and earned a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan. She completed her teaching credential at Dominican College. Deborah possesses a Masters Degree in Educational Administration and an Administrative Credential as well as a single subject Social Science credential.

Deborah created and founded Tamiscal High School of the Tamalpais Union High School District in 1990. Tamiscal was the first WASC accredited public independent study high school in Marin County.

Deborah's twenty year educational career began in private alternative schools in Marin, including the Independent Learning School and The Marin School, which she helped found in 1981. All of these schools where Deborah has taught and served as an administrator have emphasized the needs of each individual student as the top priority of the school.

Edwin Nelson
Ed Nelson holds a Ph.D degree in Physics from Stanford University. He is a teacher and tutor for both Math and Science.

Julie Ramacciotti-Byrne
Julie is an elementary and special education teacher at SoloQuest, with a BA degree in Education and a Special Education Credential, both received from Dominican University of California. She has been teaching for more than thirty years in both the classroom and as a private tutor. Julie's work with students is called specialized teaching, in which she tutors students in their specific areas of need, addressing overall learning development in addition to progress in specific subject matter.

Katie Crocker Sawicki
Katie Crocker Sawicki has a BA in English Literature and a California Teaching Credential from U.C. Davis. She also holds an Administrative Leadership Credential from Sonoma State University. She has taught grades K-12 since 1977, and in Sonoma Valley since 1985. At SoloQuest, she teaches American and World History.

Tamra Rollins
Tamara Rollins has been an educator for forty years. She has an Administrative Services Standard Elementary, Severly and Learning Handicapped teaching credentials, and a Resources Specialist Certificate. She has worked with all grade levels as a teacher, resource specialists and school administrator. Ms. Rollins is trained in the Strategic Instruction Model (SIM) and as a mentor teacher.

Jan Celio
Jan Celio has been teaching mathematics in both the classroom and as a private tutor for 30 years. She specializes in upper division mathematics from Algebra through Calculus and prepares students for the Math portion of the SAT/ACT/SSAT. Jan received her BS Degree in Mathematics along with her subsequent Teaching Credential at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Leslie Ready
Leslie Ready graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Zoology. She has a California Multiple Subjects Credential, and Reading and CLAD certificates. Leslie taught K-2 students using individual and small group instruction for 7 years. She teaches Algebra at SoloQuest and is the office manager.

Susan Jebrock
Susan Jebrock graduated from UC Davis with a BA degree in English Literature and a California Teaching Credential for grades 9-12 with a major in English and a minor in Dramatic Art. She received a Special Education Teaching Credential (LH/SH) from Sonoma State University. Her background includes the study of visually related learning problems. She has taught students of all ages and currently teaches Literature and Language Arts at SoloQuest.
